Lisa is an Addiction Therapist who specializes in treating individuals and families. Much of the structure of the Silk Counseling Group stems from solutions Lisa struggled to find while seeking her own help. Over 20 years ago a therapist told Lisa, “There may be a reason you had to suffer so deeply.” It was at this moment she first experienced true hope and purpose. She felt if she could help others climb out of the pain and despair that comes from an addiction then her suffering was worth it.
Prior to her private practice work, which began in 2011, Lisa served as a Family Therapist at The Center for Eating Disorders located in the world-renowned Sheppard Pratt Hospital. She additionally has worked in multiple Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) as a Relapse Prevention Therapist.
In addition to her individual and couples work at SCG, Lisa specializes in parental coaching, eating disorders, and shopping addiction. Lisa also facilitates our Parents Group.
Lisa’s style of therapy is motivating and empowering while being direct and honest. She helps clients discover what they have lost along the way while they were feeding their addictions instead of their souls. It is her greatest honor to help her clients recover.
